Q. I need to have a tooth extracted and cosmetic bonding on my teeth as I’ve got a tooth under my gum. Is this safe to remove, as I am a little scared? I need to have this treatment done because I have a gap in the middle tooth and I want braces to close the gap, I was advised to this before I put braces on my teeth, so please could you advise me on what to do? Is it safe and what can I expect in terms of price when having such an operation.
A. There is nothing to get scared for extracting a tooth as it is a procedure which is done under local anesthesia and as of now it is better to do the extraction prior to the orthodontic treatment to get a better result.

Q. I went to dentist today due to suffering badly from toothache! I was told I grind my teeth in my sleep as my front teeth are very worn! He X rayed and sent me away with sensitive toothpaste as he is sure it’s sensitivity! However tonight I am in complete agony is this normally for sensitive teeth? I have taken painkillers but they haven’t helped! I don’t know whether a second opinion might be useful although I have never had any concerns about my dentist before. Thank you for your time.
A. Night grinding is a most common disorder which you do during your sleep without your conscious which may lead to the attrition of your teeth and leads to the sensitivity of the teeth. And as of now you should need to get away from night grinding… there are various method to prevent the night grinding Such as using mouth guard these primary steps u need to do for your problem then u can use sensitive tooth paste and can use pain killer if needed.

Q. 4. I have a pretty high lip line that shows much of my gums when I smile. I was considering having lip lowering or lip re-positioning as a procedure to correct my gummy smile. However, I couldn’t find any dentist who knows how to perform such surgery in my country. Instead, I found a plastic surgeon that does the procedure. Is it safe for them to do it or should only periodontists perform such treatment? Thank you for helping me.
A. As of now based on your saying v can correct your gummy smile without plastic surgery as there are various other methods such as coronoplasty and crown lengthening procedure.

Q. 3. I hope you can help me. I have had temporary tooth put in which I don’t like, how long can I leave these in before I need my finals in? The temporary teeth are a mixture of A1 and A2 and I feel they are way to yellow. It’s knocking my confidence. They are on with temporary cement as I need a root canal on a tooth. This has been very stressful time consuming and I need some advice. Thank you for your time in advance.
A. First of all you need not get tensed as it is a temporary tooth. you can finish of your root canal treatment and you can have ceramic crown which is whiter like your natural teeth.

Q. 2. I have horrible crooked yellow teeth. How much would it cost to get a nice, white, straight tooted smile? Do you have finance plans or would the fee have to be paid in one payment? What kind of time scale would something like this take from start to finish? Where is your surgery? I would be more than happy to send some pictures of my teeth if that would help with the quotation!
A. To get a white teeth there are many methods which include teeth whitening, lasers and veneers which are very much affordable in price and for the crooked teeth orthodontic treatment can be done to straighten your teeth and the treatment plan varies based on patient facial profile and the price is based on what kind of orthodontic appliance we are going to use. coming to the payment ortho treatment usually takes 10 to 12 months and review will be done each month. so basic amount can be paid first when the treatment starts and other payment can be done in installment whenever the dentist calls for a review.

Q. 1. I like the nice shape of my teeth but I just hate the colour – they are more yellow than white. I was just wondering what would be the best option to make them look nice and white? I’m not looking for whitening treatment – I would be rather interested in any other permanent option like for example veneers – but now sure if this is the best option for a person like me or if there is something else?
A. First of all we need to clinically examine the tooth to find the actual cause for your tooth discoloration by examining it and taking an x-ray and to answer you we have many other latest method other than normal teeth whitening procedure which includes veneers, laser and walking bleach techniques for non vital tooth.

Q. What happens if I have a cavity?
A. Once the cavity has reached the dentine your tooth may become sensitive, particularly with sweet foods and drinks, and acidic or hot foods. As the decay gets near the dental pulp you may suffer from toothache. If the toothache is brought on by hot or sweet foods this may last for only a few seconds. As the decay gets closer to the dental pulp the pain may last longer. In this case, visit your dentist straight away as the tooth is dying and you may develop a dental abscess if it is not treated on time.

Q. Will I always need a filling?
A. No. In the very early stages of decay, your dentist may apply a fluoride varnish onto the area. This can help stop further decay and help ‘remineralise’ the tooth.  However, it is important to follow the cleaning routine your dentist, using fluoride toothpaste to prevent decay starting again.
